On the northern border of the Three Gorges,  is the big and wild climbing area of Big Soddy. This sunny, south facing cliff is mostly comprised of 100’+ tall walls that feature some sport climbing, with the majority of the routes being traditional or mixed in nature. This Cumberland Trail climbing area has an adventurous feel with big air and few crowds. There has also been a significant amount of bouldering developed in the large river bed during drier months.

Check out a video of the climbing area below.

Opposite the sunny walls of Big Soddy is an area nestled in the confluence of Big Soddy Gorge and Cedar Branch offering a massively overhanging “amphitheater” climbing area comprised of 100′ overhanging walls offering some of the hardest and steepest rock climbs in Tennessee.
